A few days ago, I had the chance to participate as a special guest in Episode 6 at Donkeys & Dragons. The Donkeys & Dragons eposides are organized by Janet Gregory and Lisa Crispin in the Agile Testing Fellow YouTube channel! Each eposide consists of a 15-minute chat of any topic related to agile testing.
I had the honor of being the first guest in Janet and Lisa’s channel and it was about one of my favorite testing topics: mind mapping. Mind maps are a powerful tool and they can help us in different ways when testing.
Mind maps can be useful to:
- Organize and visualize ideas.
- Discuss ideas as a team.
- Identify test conditions and ideas better. They help us conceptualize and visualize the different tests ideas and variables, reinforcing the relationship between them in a graphic way, which is easier than if it is written in a narrative way. Besides, mind maps are easy to review, improve and extend.
- Identify dependencies.
- Identify hidden assumptions.
- Have a common understanding of the features.
- Share knowledge.
I invite you to watch the episode and find more ideas!
I really enjoyed participating and sharing my experience with mind maps. Thanks again Janet and Lisa for the opportunity and for empowering the testing community!
